Miteva: We witnessed countless irregularities, but the citizens have shown courage behind the screens

The response to the smear campaign of the government was a high turnout. The people decided for changes, and the government led by Zoran Zaev showed its undemocratic face. Government on one side is in panic, and on the other side are the brave people, said VMRO-DPMNE spokesperson Marija Miteva at tonight’s press conference after the election run-off.

We are witnessing countless irregularities. Yesterday, in the middle of the election silence, SDSM party officials were propagandizing and bribing voters. We have information about bribery in Kochani, Radovish, Novo Selo, Makedonska Kamenica, Gjorche Petrov and other parts of Macedonia. A team of journalists was attacked last night, and today journalists were prevented from reporting from a polling station. As a political party, we are disgusted by the undemocratic behavior of the government, but we will use all legal actions and inform the international institutions. But, the citizens gave their answer today, and Zoran Zaev will hear the priorities of the citizens from the polling stations,” said Miteva.

She said that at this moment it is too early to announce any results from the local elections, but as she says, the results will certainly be favorable for VMRO-DPMNE.
