Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said Thursday in a phone call with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement OlivérVárhelyithat Sofia expects dialogue with North Macedonia to produce concrete results.
President Radev told Commissioner Várhelyi that Bulgaria is open for dialogue by putting forward clear questions, while expecting answers and real action from N. Macedonia.
He added that the bilateral agenda should not be subordinated to foreign influence but include clear engagement by both sides, thus moving North Macedonia’s European integration forward.
Radev said the main emphasis in the dialogue should be put on the respect of the rights of Bulgarians in N. Macedonia, permanent uprooting of hate speech and respect of Bulgarian history and cultural heritage in Macedonia.
