The SDSM central board is set to hold a meeting on Friday to discuss the resignation of party leader and incumbent Prime Minister ZoranZaev.

The party board was scheduled to meet on Tuesday but the session was postponed due to the fatal bus accident in Bulgaria.

Verification of Zaev’s resignation launches the 15-day deadline for scheduling of the election procedure of a new leader. All party members have the right to vote and the new SDSM leader will be, as Zaev has said, the new PM-designate.

Meanwhile, the Alternativa central board will also meet on Friday to decide if the party accepts Zaev’s offer to join the Government in the coming period.
