Bulgarian Deputy Chief Prosecutor and Head of the National Investigation Service Borislav Sarafov told the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) that all 45 victims of the fatal bus accident on the Struma highway have been identified through DNA analysis.
Forty-five people were killed on November 23 in an overnight accident on the Struma highway near the Bosnek village in Bulgaria after a bus with Skopje register plates, which was traveling from Turkey to N. Macedonia, skidded and caught fire.
On Wednesday, the remains of the victims were released by the supervising prosecutor to representatives of the government of North Macedonia, so that they can be taken to the victims’ families, Sarafov said.
The remains will be flown to the country by a military aircraft provided by the Bulgarian government.
