Macedonia has ranked worst on the European list of material deprivation.
The Eurostat survey measures the material deprivation rate through several parameters. Specifically, the number of people who cannot afford at least three basic items such as paying bills, buying meat or fish, a new phone, washing machine or car and traveling for a week. N. Macedonia has the worst rate in Europe (31.1%).
