Macedonia to chair OSCE in 2023, preparation activities begin

Macedonia became part of the OSCE Chairmanship tri, also known as The OSCE Troika, along with last year’s chair Sweden, as well as Poland, which is this year’s chair. This formally begins our obligations related to the chairmanship in 2023 of the largest regional security organization OSCE in which 57 countries are members, plus 11 Mediterranean and Asian partner countries of the Organization, informed  Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani at today’s press conference.

For us in the house of diplomacy, he said, one of the most important priorities in 2022 will be the chairmanship of the OSCE and through the active role as part of the troika, but also through our preparation for the chairmanship in 2023.

Today, as the first working day of the year, said Osmani, we take over the chairmanship of the Group of Mediterranean Partners – Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia, and as co-chairs in the first year of our participation in the troika we will organize The Mediterranean conference between the OSCE and the Mediterranean partner countries is probably in Skopje, and then we take over the management of the adoption of the budget of the Organization.
