During his presentation of the priorities of the French presidency of the European Union, Ambassador CyrilleBaumbartner made it clear that Macedonia shlouldn’t expect the opening of EU accession talks in the foreseeable time.

Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov says the Macedonian case is the most convincing, most drastic test of the credibility of EU policy towards the Western Balkans region. France was the country that blocked Macedonia, and then Bulgaria used its right to veto on several occasions. Although it was expected that accession talks with the EU could be opened in December last year, this did not happen.
