Joint Steering Committee Macedonia – UN hold second meeting on Friday

Minister of Foreign Affairs BujarOsmani, along with the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of North Macedonia RosanaDudzak held the second meeting of the Joint Steering Committee for the Implementation of the Framework for Cooperation for Sustainable Development of the United Nations and National Institutions for 2022.

The purpose of the meeting was to review national priorities in the field of sustainable development, and approved the Joint Work Plan for 2022 for the implementation of the UN Cooperation Framework for 2021-2025.

Working together between UN agencies and the government in 2021 has resulted in 6,800 new jobs for young people. New health services have been established for people in rural areas, availability of the Macedonian language for foreigners especially for asylum seekers and refugees, declaration of Shar Mountain as a new national park in the country, strengthening of the capacities of the state administration on EU topics and rapprochement EU support legislation, as well as the development of a National Development Strategy that will set the long-term development vision of the country.
