The agents, who were identified as Russian spies in Bulgaria’s State National Security Agency (DANS), worked against Bulgaria’s good neighborly relations with Macedonia and the Western Balkans, Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said in an interview with Sofia-based 24 Chasa.

According to Petkov, everyone should ask themselves whether long-term Bulgarian interest is for North Macedonia to become part of the EU or to “remain an excluded country”.

On the same topic in an interview with BTV, Pekov stressed that it is obvious that there is Russian interference in Bulgaria related to the Western Balkans and Macedonia.
