The Bishop of Strumica – Skopje Kiro Stojanov, on the occasion of the feast of the Resurrection of Christ – Easter, which is celebrated on Sunday (April 17) by the citizens of the Catholic faith, sent an Easter greeting to all Catholic believers.

“Dear brothers and sisters! With the decision of Pope Francis, last year on the feast of St. Joseph, on March 19, 2021, began the year dedicated to the family “Amoris letitia” which will last until June 26 this year. The Pope wants to encourage us that in our pastoral commitment we always put the family in the center of attention of the Church and society. Every family should feel the living presence of the Holy Family of Nazareth in their home, fulfilling their daily responsibilities and keeping the family community with sincere and generous love, every family should be a source of joy despite the temptations and difficulties it encounters.

“During these trying times, we cannot but address the suffering and pain of the people of Ukraine. Brothers and sisters, your great suffering, which you are now enduring, finds an echo in our hearts. We sympathize with all the suffering people, praying to God to send consolation to the bereaved, to help the suffering rise from the ashes, to give eternal peace to the dead, and to send His Spirit to the powerful and the initiators of the conflict to forsake evil and follow the path of peace and justice. And in this evil, the families who pay a high price are affected yet again. May the resurrected Christ banish their fears and strengthen them in the faith that He is the only true Way, Truth and Life,” says Bishop Kiro Stojanov.
