Long-term delay in European integration affects Euroscepticism and mistrust in general, EU enlargement will increase security and stabilize democracy. It is very important for North Macedonia and Albania to start accession negotiations with the EU without delay, Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovachevski told Greek newspaper “To Vima”, emphasizing that especially in the context of the war in Ukraine, it is important to start the process without delay.

In an interview called “Immediate start of accession talks with the EU”, conducted on the occasion of the participation of the Prime Minister and the government delegation at the Delphi Forum in Greece held from April 6 to 9, Kovachevski spoke about the EU perspective, the Bulgarian veto, the war in Ukraine , but also the consequences for our country.

The Prime Minister said that “NATO and the EU should maintain their credibility to strengthen the region”, and the open door policy is a historic success that ensures peace and security on the entire European continent.

“This policy must continue to ensure the region’s integration, security and stability in the Western Balkans.” The long-term delay in European integration affects Euroscepticism and mistrust in general. We need to overcome regional disputes. This is a matter of security today, not economics. EU enlargement will increase security. It will stabilize democracy. It is very important for North Macedonia and Albania to start accession negotiations with the EU without delay,” said the Prime Minister.
