The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia announced Wednesday that it will submit an initiative to the Parliament to adopt a legal solution that will allow MPs, who announced that they will submit amendments to the Law on Trade, to work on Sunday.
“We will ask the friend of the workers, Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi to put such a proposal in a fast-track procedure at a Parliament session and we will call on all MPs to provide the right to additional work on Sunday to MPs from the political party considering submitting a proposal – a law that wants to curtail that right of workers, reads SSM’s reaction.
This, says SSM, will make the MPs that want to submit amendments to the Law on Trade see what it is like to work on Sundays.
“This way, the MPs who submitted the Draft-Law on Amending the Law on Trade will be enabled to work on Sundays in the tourist centers and to feel on their own skin what it was like for the trade workers, who did not even know for a weekend, neither for a holiday nor for a non-working day. And the workers who rest on Sundays, will gladly visit the MPs who will work in trade in the tourist centers and shop there,” reads the reaction.
