European Immunization Week is traditionally celebrated each year between April 24 and April 30, 2022. This year highlights the historic achievements of vaccination, including progress towards global polio eradication and regional eradication of measles and rubella.

“There is no doubt that immunization contributes to a healthy population. As we worked to protect our population from COVID-19, regular vaccine coverage fell below the optimum level. Our tendency is to reach the recommended coverage of 95 percent, for that purpose in cooperation with the health centers we are starting with intensified field work to call the missing children for vaccination,” said Minister of Health Dr. BekimSali.

46.5 percent of the citizens of North Macedonia have received two doses of vaccines against COVID-19, and only 8.4 percent have received a booster dose.
