Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov will not visit Skopje soon, said the head of the Office of the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Lena Borislavova.
“There will be no visit soon, as we do not have a document we can work on under the Good Neighborliness Treaty. So, as the Macedonian side confirmed yesterday, the intergovernmental conference is postponed until we see steps related to meeting the criteria and understanding, which show protection against discrimination of the Bulgarian ethnic minority, Borislavova told Bulgarian National Television (BNT).
She stressed that “Bulgaria does not seek a minority” in the country, but the inclusion of Bulgarians as a state-building nation in the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia, in order to “have all the rights enjoyed by other ethnicities”.
