The Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia Dimitar Kovachevski met with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs and Special Representative for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar, who is attending this year’s Prespa Dialogue Forum in Ohrid.
Escobar stressed the need for an immediate start of Macedonia’s accession talks with the EU and stressed the US support for finding mutually acceptable solutions to bilateral issues with the Republic of Bulgaria.
Any further delay in that process, the two interlocutors stressed, causes serious regional consequences and encourages the risks of increased influence of third parties.
