VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski told TV24 that the Macedonian side “cannot wait” for the Bulgarian side to reject the French proposal of Emanuel Macron. Even if the proposal is accepted, says Mickoski, “there will be only a photo session” in Brussels.
“They realized that they had fallen into a trap, waiting for Bulgaria to reject it and for them to be constructive in the process. Everyone is running away to comment, and what is so scary to say is that what they saw from the media is unacceptable to them,” Mickoski said.
For the leader of the largest opposition party, it is strange that the representatives of the Macedonian government still do not comment, although there are already details of the negotiating framework and the bilateral protocol, which is to be voted in the Bulgarian Parliament.
France does not put this proposal on the table if it is not accepted by Sofia and Skopje through communication channels, Mickoski said.
The opposition leader believes that the proposal will be passed in the Bulgarian Parliament, but in June Macedonia will not receive a date for accession talks, because, as he says, it is not physically possible to push the document in time.
