The Constitution is not a can that should be opened or closed according to the political appetites of Karakachanov, Kovachevski, Osmani or Trifonov

The current proposal for a negotiating framework means that there will be a photo session in which Kovachevski and Bujar Osmani will be photographed with the representatives of the European Commission and then Macedonia will be stuck in useless, internally exhausting debates on whether or not to open the Constitution, which who wins, who loses, who is a nationalist, who is a patriot, who is a traitor and we will have nothing productive of that. We are to follow the Slavic-Croatian model of negotiations – to work on the standards that Macedonia should achieve, and the EU member state that has some key remarks and some key request to meet that request at the moment when Macedonia becomes member of the European Union. Thus Slovenia and Croatia in a civilized way resolved their dispute and now are both members of the European Union and are very good neighbors. You cannot force someone to quasi-good neighborliness, especially not if you encroach on his identity and self-sufficiency, said MP Antonio Miloshoski in an interview with TV Sitel.

Miloshoski added that if the key concessions are made at the moment before the start of negotiations, one should be aware that during the negotiations one might get five or ten more blockades and will have to negotiate for decades, but maybe you will never become a member state.

“Therefore, VMRO-DPMNE believes that the Constitution is not a can that should be opened or closed according to the political appetites of Karakachanov, Kovachevski, Bujar Osmani or Slavi Trifonov,” Miloshoski said.
