The European Commission’s proposal for Ukraine and Moldova to receive EU candidate status is also good for the Western Balkans, as it shows that the geostrategic significance of EU enlargement still exists and that the process is moving forward, said Manuel Saracin, special envoy of the German government for the Western Balkans, in an interview with DW.
Saracin is sure that North Macedonia will soon be under great pressure from disinformation from Russia, so he believes that it will be necessary for the country to get a date for the start of accession talks with the European Union.
