The Bulgarian Parliament today adopted a historic decision that gives the green light to the French proposal for Macedonia’s accession to the European Union, wrote Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Kiril Petkov on Facebook.

“Effective implementation of the Good Neighborliness Treaty, guarantee of the rights of the Bulgarians in the Republic of North Macedonia through their insertion in the Constitution, nothing in the accession process of RNM to be interpreted as recognition of the Macedonian language by Bulgaria, and guarantees from the EU that all this will be fulfilled, are the conditions set by Sofia,” Petkov wrote.
