The Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jovana Trenchevska spoke Monday on MRT about the service – personal assistance, the second public call for social services in the municipalities, the new methodology for harmonizing pensions and child protection.
“The service was introduced in 2019 with the new Law on Social Protection and is available to persons with more severe physical and severe physical disabilities from 6 to 69 years of age. Amendments to this law are currently in the Parliament, with which we plan to include people with combined disabilities, which will increase the scope of beneficiaries,” said Trenchevska.
The Minister pointed out that at the moment there are 183 personal assistants who offer the service of personal assistance through providers in the country, the largest of which is the Red Cross. The assistants go through trainings for which they receive licenses, and their requalification continues during the work.
