Pari.mk analysis: Banks aregetting richer, loans have increased by 10 percentin one year, 90 percent are consumer and residential loans

The banking sector has invested 6.6 billion euros in loans, as of June 2022. Of these, 3.2 billion euros are in the corporate sector, and 3.4 billion euros are placed with households. At the same time, there are 7.4 billion euros in deposits on bank accounts, the analysis of Pari.mk shows.

Data from the National Bank reveal that loans grow significantly faster than deposits. Namely, on an annual level, there is a total growth of loans by 10%, and of deposits by 1.8%. In absolute terms, these figures showed that deposits increased by 130 million euros in one year, and loans by around 600 million euros. Thus, at the end of June this year, the difference between deposits and loans was about 770 million euros, and a year ago it was about 1.2 billion euros.
