Thirty-five migrants out of a total of 49 were injured in last night’s accident that happened on the Gevgelija-Demir Kapija main road at the junction for the village of Marvinci, after a Scania truck with Skopje license plates, in which the migrants were being transported, ran off the road.
According to the information from the spokesperson of Police Department Strumica, Aleksandra Trajanova, one of the migrants suffered more serious injuries.
“According to the migrants, all of them are from Syria, some had travel documents and some did not. Last night at 6pm the police received a report that a truck ran off the road at the junction from the village of Marvinci to the M1, regional road Gevgelija – DemirKapija. The driver fled the scene, and the migrants were found at the place where the truck crashed,”Trajanova said.
