AMSM informs that on the road Kochani – Shtip, about 80-100 citizens-rice producers with 12 agricultural machines blocked the traffic lane in the direction of Shtip – Kochani near the village of Obleshevo. The rice farmers announced the protests on Monday, dissatisfied with the purchase prices, and say that there will be blockades every day until the beginning of the harvest.
The concerned farmers informed that the roadblocks will be installed every day until the start of the harvest.
“On the world market, the price of white rice jumped to 2,500 euros per ton or 150 denars per kilogram, while in our country the purchase price has stagnated. That is why we are asking for a purchase price of 40 denars for rice barley and 80 denars for white rice,” said the organizers of the protest on Tuesday.
