The source of all the problems with Bulgaria is the SDSM-led government which signed a treaty which was a victory even for the biggest Bulgarian nationalists, stressed opposition VMRO-DPMNE in a press release on Friday.
“Back in 2017 when Zaev was preparing the treaty, VMRO-DPMNE claimed that it was asymmetrical, with rights for Bulgaria and obligations for Macedonia. Even the biggest Bulgarian chauvinists couldn’t believe that Zaev and SDSM were putting theses as a matter of agreement that they themselves never said. Even the late Bozidar Dimitrov was impressed by Zaev, and considered the treaty an absolute victory for Bulgaria. Since that treaty, all Bulgaria’s demands have been even worse and more negative. What Kovachevski is pushing today is an upgrade from what Zaev set five years ago,” the opposition party said.
