Due to bacteriological contamination, water from public taps and water supply systems in the villages of Lipec, Laki, Krushevo and Trstija in the Vinica region is prohibited for drinking, cooking or maintaining personal hygiene.

The testing of the water samples taken a few days ago by the Center for Public Health from Kočani show the illegal presence of coliform bacteria, intestinal enterococci, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. As a preventive measure, the Center has sent a recommendation to the local self-government of Vinica to inform the population and place signs that the water is defective for use.

The Center for Public Health emphasizes that the concentration of residual chlorine in the water supply in the village of Kalimanci is very high, which is why it should be regularly controlled and the level should not exceed 0.5 milligrams per liter.
