Inflation reaches new record of 16.8 percent

The cost of living on an annual level increased by 16.8 percent, and retail prices by 14.2 percent.

The State Statistics Office (SSO) announced a new record increase in inflation.

Edible oil and bread are sold almost 50 percent more expensive, dairy products are 30 percent more expensive, and the cost of purchasing fruits and vegetables has increased by 20 percent.

Experts expect that the inflation will exceed 20 percent by the end of the year.
