The Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue the coordination meetings with the Republic of Bulgaria for the opening of the Klepalo border crossing near Berovo.
Minister Blagoj Bochvarski, during Friday’s working visit to the Municipality of Pehcevo, was asked how far things are with this border crossing, and pointed out that it has been ascertained that the Bulgarian side is on the move to move things forward, from where he was informed that all studies for the protection of the environment, after which the implementation of the road route to the border crossing from the Bulgarian side will begin.
“We will simultaneously work on opening the border crossings. There is a mixed commission led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the purpose of coordination with the Republic of Bulgaria in the area of the border crossing. From that aspect, I want to emphasize that the Bulgarian side should implement its own border crossing on the Bulgarian side, so we are at a more advanced stage in this part and we are monitoring the situation,” said Bochvarski.
