The Skopje Chamber of Crafts demands that craftsmen receive subsidies from the state and be considered as consumers of electricity in the category of “households” in order to overcome the energy crisis more easily. The Chamber warns that the sector is in crisis and informs that it has asked the Government to subsidize a part of the bills for consumed electricity for craftsmen from October 2022 to May 2023. If they are not subsidized, stresses the Chamber, a large part of them will stop operating.
“The whole sector is in crisis because resources, electricity and repair materials are more expensive, as well as because of the negative impact of the deficit of professional staff. Handicrafts is a sector where businesses function as independent performers, but also businesses that have employees and that need to reduce electricity costs,” says the Chamber of Crafts.
