The referendum initiated as a response to the French proposal, the energy and financial crisis, political goals and ambitions, as well as relations within the opposition, are some of the topics we discussed with the opposition leader Hristian Mickoski. In an interview with Fokus.mk, Mickoski expresses confidence that VMRO-DPMNE will form the next government. At the same time, he announces his withdrawal from politics, if even one MP betrays his trust.
When asked if Macedonia is headed for bankruptcy, Mickoski says that 2 to 2.5 billion euros will be needed to get out of the difficult situation, to finish this year and get through next year.
“The energy crisis, in itself, will not be as much of a problem as it will transform into a financial crisis. Electricity will have to be bought, but at what price? The longer we wait, the more expensive we will pay. From what I see from the Government, it is not clear how they will close the situation financially. They are not even provided with energy,” Mickoski said.
