Almost 31 percent of the mortality in the country is due to cardiovascular diseases, and the data indicating that there is a tendency to increase in heart diseases among the younger population, which is active at work, i.e. the population under 40 years of age, is also worrying, informed the Macedonian Health Minister Bekim Sali, on the commemoration of September 29 – World Heart Day.
At the Cardiology Clinic, where medical equipment, a donation from the Macedonian diaspora from the USA, was handed over on the occasion of the World Heart Day, Minister Sali said that annually at this clinic about 35,000 patients are served with outpatient examinations, and about ten to eleven thousand patients are hospitalized annually.
