Inflation reaches 18.7 percent in September

The cost of living (inflation) in September this year compared to September last year increased by 18.7%, and the retail price index by 14.7%.

Compared to August of 2022, however, the cost of living increased by 1.6%, and retail prices recorded a drop of 0.1%, the State Statistics Office (SSO) announced on Friday.

An increase in the indices of the cost of living in September 2022, compared to the previous month, was recorded for cheese and cottage cheese by 9.9%, fresh and chilled fruit by 6.3%, milk by 5.7%, fish and seafood by 3.5%, fresh and chilled vegetables by 3.1%, beer by 2.9%, bread and cereals by 2.6%, meat by 2.2%, wine by 1.6%. Growth was also observed in household solid fuels by 15.2%, bicycles by 9.1%, furniture and household goods by 6.9%, hair salons and beauty centers by 6.1%, spare parts and accessories for own vehicles by 5.9%, carpets and others floor coverings by 5.4%, repair of household appliances by 4.2%, home maintenance and repair services by 1.5%, road passenger transport by 1.4%, etc.
