The researches of civil associations unequivocally confirm the discrimination in the employment of Roma women locally in Kumanovo and in the country. And in the 21st century, there are practically no results, even though “everything looks good on paper.
Roma women are more discriminated against in employment, according to the data of civil associations. The initial discrimination begins in families where there is still a sharp division of roles between men and women. Discrimination continues in society as well, as Roma women are in the top three places with the fewest employees in the country.
Discrimination is difficult to prove – there are no reports in the Commission for Prevention and Protection from Discrimination and the Ombudsman.
