Taking into account my six parliamentary mandates and this experience as the President of the Assembly in the second term, a position that primarily implies assuming responsibility, I have no doubts that the two decisions I made are completely correct, including these on the referendum initiatives. In that context, I have not done anything that is beyond my authority, said Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi on Saturday.
Xhaferi, in an interview with daily news outlet Sloboden Pechat, points out that especially in this period they have an obligation to ensure the functionality of the Parliament.
“I point out to everyone that the Assembly, especially in this period when we have already started the process, should be functional, to complete its obligations first of all to ensure the functionality of other institutions. No one should feel sorry for the Parliament to function at its full capacity, according to the needs of the state and its citizens, but everyone should check their own conscience and responsibility”, said Xhaferi.
