The country could join the European family in 50 years, predicts the European Policy Institute of Kosovo (EPIK), and as the researchers state, the results are based on the speed with which the countries of the Western Balkans implement reforms.
According to the projection, the closest to membership in the European Union is Montenegro, which is predicted to take 45 years to become a full member of the EU.
The second and third places are shared by N. Macedonia and Serbia, which are predicted to become part of the Union in 2072.
Albania comes fourth – 60 years, in fifth place comes Kosovo – in 75 years, and Bosnia and Herzegovina 80 years from now.
