Solar power plants will be drivers of the energy transition in N. Macedonia. Before the start of construction are the photovoltaic power plants through a public-private partnership with ESM in Oslomej, with an installed capacity of 100 megawatts, and in 2023 I expect to start construction of another 10 megawatt solar power plant in Oslomej by ESM, Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski told the media on Tuesday.
Kovachevski, who attended an event on the occasion of the new equipment in MEPSO, pointed out that several laws for strategic investments in this area should be submitted to the Parliament next month.
In ESM, the Prime Minister pointed out, other projects for the construction of photovoltaic power plants in REC Bitola, with a capacity of between 200 and 300 megawatts, are being finalized, and in the next two years all 130 megawatts of photovoltaic power plants should be put into use, through premiums for which contracts have been signed in the past two years.
