The Macedonian millers announce a decrease in bread prices by about 10 percent towards the end of December or starting the beginning of next year. They welcome the government’s decision to provide electricity at affordable prices, which covers food producers.

However, the prices of bread will also depend on the movement of raw material prices.

“With the two government decisions, on the price of electricity and on the limitation of margins in wholesale and retail trade, there will inevitably be a downward trend, which will achieve a normal price in the current crisis situation. Depending on the industrial bakery capacity, the reduction in prices would be about 10 percent of the retail prices,” the president of the Milling and Baking Industry Group Goran Malishikj told the media.
