Macedonia ranks as safest of the Western Balkan countries

North Macedonia is the safest of the Western Balkan countries in the Western Balkans with a jump of 97 positions in 2017 and four positions higher than last year. Or, according to the Global Peace Index (GPI), this year we are in the company of the 36 safest countries in the world, Minister of the Internal Affairs Oliver Spasovski said in a Facebook post on Monday.
Assessing several aspects of peace, including societal security, he wrote, the Global Peace Index is a useful tool for analyzing how far we have come in our efforts.
The continuous progress of the country according to the Global Peace Index as a result of the implementation of the set priorities of this leadership, says Minister Spasovski, is equally a credit to the employees of the institution that is a guarantor of safety and security, but also to you, the citizens.
Today, adds Spasovski, the police are at the service of the citizens, the Ministry of the Interior is one of the most transparent institutions with the greatest trust in relevant research.
