The Russian spy and Ukrainian oligarch Onishchenko was granted Macedonian citizenship during Kovachevski’s rule, there must be accountability and resignations, VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release on Friday.
Onishchenko was granted Macedonian citizenship in May 2022, when Kovachevski has already been Prime Minister for five months. The accountability for the case of Onishchenko’s issued citizenship cannot end with the suspension of ANB employees. There must be political responsibility from Viktor Dimovski and Oliver Spasovski. Dimovski must not be the Macedonian ambassador to France. How can Macedonia be confident in a person who enabled a criminal like Onishchenko, who is on the U.S. blacklist, to get citizenship?, reads the opposition party’s press release.
