The Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) demands the immediate resignation of the director of the Skopje Sever heating plant, Kushtrim Ramadani, because of the rude insults he directed to the journalist Katerina Dodevska from the MKD.mk portal. AJM condemns this attitude towards journalists and offers free legal assistance to represent the journalist in court.

“Instead of replying to a legitimate journalistic question about the operation of the Skopje, North heating plant, the director Kushtrim Ramadani sent rude insults and insults to the journalist Katerina Dodevska from MKD.mk. In a telephone conversation between colleague Dodevska and director Ramadani, related to the topic of permits for this heating plant, Ramadani curses the journalist in a rude manner using an inappropriate vocabulary.

AJM warns that this attitude towards journalists and media workers by responsible persons is unacceptable and inappropriate. A personal confrontation with journalists or media workers cannot be justified in any case and therefore this attitude can lead to self-censorship. Such behavior also represents a pressure on the freedom of informing the public and a threat to the public interest.
