The rise in energy prices increased the costs of companies up to seven times this autumn, compared to the previous one. The biggest challenge for companies at the moment is the price of electricity, and even a third of them are considering temporarily stopping production or closing their business if the price of electricity is not reduced or support from the Government is not received. For more than half of the companies (55%), the existing government support measures for easier overcoming of the energy crisis are insufficient or inadequate.

These are the key findings of the survey of the Organization of Employers of Macedonia (OEM), which covered 125 companies, and whose purpose is to assess the negative effects of the energy crisis on companies that are supplied with electricity on the open market. The research was conducted with the support of the International Labor Organization.
