A 55-year-old woman from Veles jumped into the Vardar River in Veles on New Year’s Eve, half an hour after midnight. The disappearance of the woman with the initials M.K. from the village of Sojaklari in Veles, was reported by her brother D.M. (61), and later it was established that the woman jumped into the river from the so-called Malo Movche.
The search for her or her remains is still ongoing. Police officers, firefighters and citizens participate in the search, and it is coordinated by the Regional Center for Crisis Management.
“Due to the weather conditions, specifically reduced visibility and increased water level on the river Vardar, it was determined that the conditions today do not allow another major action.
