The airlines Wizz Air, Lufthansa and Aegean Airlines submitted offers to the tender for granting financial support for new airlines from the Skopje International Airport and the airport “St. Paul the Apostle” in Ohrid for the period between 2023 and 2025.
The bids were opened today in the Ministry of Transport and Communications by the Commission for that purpose. Next week, the evaluation of the offers will be carried out, after which it is expected that there will be selected airlines with which a contract for subsidies for new flights will be concluded.
With the call, which was open from December 20 last year until yesterday noon, unlike previous calls, more airlines can be chosen. About 1.1 million euros are planned for financial support for new airlines in 2023.
