Macedonia ranks 85th on the world corruption index

On Transparency International’s international index for the perception of corruption in the world, N. Macedonia is in 85th place out of 180 countries. From the region ahead of us are Slovenia (41), Greece (51), Croatia (57), Montenegro (65), Kosovo (84). And, in that place, Macedonia is in the company of Suriname, India, Maldives, Guyana and Tunisia. After us are Albania and Serbia (101).

The world urgently needs action, Transparency International writes about the global corruption index. The 2022 Corruption Perceptions Index shows that most countries are failing to stop corruption.

The index ranks 180 countries and territories around the world according to citizens’ perception of corruption in the public sector, and is evaluated on a scale from 0 (very corrupt) to 100 (very clean). At the top of this ranking list are Denmark, Finland, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, etc.
