Food companies use subsidized electricity and don’t reduce prices, it will be proposed to abolish the measure, says Bekteshi

The Macedonian Ministry of Economy is currently working on designing new measures aimed at reducing the prices of basic food products. The measure to limit the margins is fully respected by the traders, but a large part of the food companies that use subsidized electricity from the state, did not reduce the prices, said the Macedonian Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi in an interview for the “Economic Magazine” show on TV Alsat.

“Instead of subsidizing certain companies that do not comply with the provisions, those funds in the Budget that are designated for anti-crisis measures, we will convert them into a reduction of certain duties, such as customs or others, and thus we will influence the reduction of prices”, Bekteshi said.
