The lack of doctors, medical staff, hygienists, and other professional staff is one of the most pressing problems that has been running through the Macedonian health system for a decade. 30 employees left the Shtip Clinical Hospital in just one to two months. At the moment, the hospital works with a hundred employees, the director of the Clinical Hospital in Shtip Alen Gjeorgjiev told MIA.
The most critical is the Department of Anesthesiology, which will function with only three anesthesiologists. Specialist doctors are also lacking in Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, and Infectious Diseases, and nurses, paramedics and hygienists are in short supply in all departments.
