Nowhere in Europe was the morbid concept called the “final solution of the Jewish issue” implemented more effectively than in the then occupied Macedonia. In both the Hebrew and Macedonian languages, the original meaning of the word justice refers to what corresponds to the truth. Justice means to recognize and name the truth and for it to be respected by all. For there to be reconciliation, there should be an apology for the role of the pro-fascist government in Sofia at the time in the deportation of Macedonian Jews, Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski said in his address in front of the monument of 7,144 deported Macedonian Jews – former Skopje Monopol who were taken from this very place 80 years ago in three convoys to the railway station and deported to the Treblinka camp.
