Culture Ministry employees stage protest in front of the Ministry of Finance

The employees of the Ministry of Culture, the Administration for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and the Film Agency requested a meeting with the Minister of Finance Fatmir Bisimi on Monday, during the one-hour protest held in front of the Ministry of Finance. At the protest, they once again urged for a salary increase.
The head of the trade union organization at the Ministry of Culture, Branko Kostovski, stated that they will be present every day in large numbers, until the goal is achieved – appropriate valorization of the work of the employees in these institutions.
They demand the signing of a collective agreement and an increase in wages following the example of the Ministry of Finance.”
“We cannot get through the month with a salary of 25 thousand MKD, which is the salary that on average 70 percent of employees in the culture sector are paid,” said Kostovski.
