NBM: External debt, claims and international investment position in the fourth quarter of 2022

The regular statistical announcement on the most significant changes in external debt, external claims and the international investment position has been published. At the end of the fourth quarter of 2022, the net external debt amounts to EUR 4,349 million (or 33.7% of estimated GDP).

The net external debt in the fourth quarter of 2022 has increased by 432 million euros, or by 11%. From the aspect of the structure, the private net debt still has a larger share in the total net debt with 64%. During the fourth quarter of 2022, the negative net international investment position (NIP) increased by 318 million euros and amounted to 8,151 million euros, which represents 63.2% of the estimated GDP for 2022, announced the National Bank of N. Macedonia.
