Migrant shot dead after one of the smugglers tried to take a gun from a police officer


Wednesday morning around 06:20 in Gevgelija, near the Barracks, a migrant was shot dead after a police officer shot after one of the migrants’ smugglers tried to take his gun away. The news was confirmed by the Strumica PD spokesperson Aleksandra Trajanova.
“The police officers noticed a passenger motor vehicle Mercedes, driven by K. J. (26) and passenger motor vehicle Ford Focus, driven by S.B. (51), both from Skopje, in which migrants were illegally transported. The vehicles were stopped by police officers, after which the drivers and migrants tried to escape, and K.J. physically attacked a police officer, trying to take his gun. In doing so, the police officer fired from his service pistol and hit one of the migrants, who was immediately transported by police vehicle to the Emergency Medical Aid facility for medical assistance, where he died,” said the spokesperson.
