Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski confirmed on Friday that the Government instructed the Ministry of Transport and Communications to transfer the money to the contractor of Corridors 8 and 10 D, Bechtel and Enka. The Prime Minister claims that everything is in accordance with the signed contract and the transferred funds are not related to the mentioned damages.
“In accordance with the Law on the construction of Corridor 8 and Corridor 10D and in accordance with the agreement signed on the basis of that law, the Government obliged the Ministry of Transport and Communications to start all the necessary procedures for the start of the design activities and the engagement of all the necessary resources necessary for the start of the works and of course for the transactions of the financial assets, which are in accordance with the contract for the start of the works. There are no damages, these are lies of the opposition, which you see day by day are creating hysteria, just like they did hysteria about joining NATO, just like they did hysteria about starting negotiations with the European Union. They are also doing the same for the start of work on Corridor 8, they are not doing anything else,” Kovachevski said.
